Terms and Conditions of Charter:

  1. Booking: The vessel is not booked until a completed booking form is signed and returned by the party organiser and accompanied with a deposit of one third the total charter charge and a charter invoice has been issued.
  2. Balance Due: The balance of the charter hire and that due for catering requirements must be paid in full 14 days before the date of embarkation.
  3. Liability: The party organiser is personally liable for the whole of the balance of the charter invoice even though he/she and or the party/group may be prevented by circumstances from taking part in the charter cruise agreed and invoiced for. Under such circumstances Freedom Boats will endeavour to re-book the vessel; if successful the party organiser will only forfeit the deposit.
Freedom Boats will accept liability for any cancellation due to breakdown or circumstances preventing the boat being unavailable, howsoever caused. In the unlikely event of Freedom Boats having to cancel a chartered cruise, all monies paid for the booking will be repaid in full and there shall be no further claim against Freedom Boats Ltd.
  4. Navigation restrictions: On very rare occasions unforeseen stoppages beyond the control of Freedom Boats could occur, (i.e. due to a breach in the canal, essential engineering work on the canal navigation or reduction of water levels etc.) which prevent navigation. In such circumstances the organiser/group will be offered full use of the vessel at its moorings or a full refund and there shall be no further claim against Freedom Boats Ltd.
  5. Embarkation: Passengers should assemble 15 minutes prior to the agreed departure time. Where passengers fail to arrive for departure time, Freedom Boats reserve the right to sail on time, and to make no refund of monies paid. Late departure does result in late returns; if such circumstances arise, Freedom Boats reserves the right to apply a surcharge pro-rata.
  6. Food & Drinks: No food or drinks may be brought on board by passengers except by prior arrangement (special dietary needs etc.) with Freedom Boats.
  7. Captain: The vessel will at all times be under the sole charge of the Captain. Passengers must at all times accept the Captains’ instructions and decisions. Please note that in the event of unruly or unacceptable behaviour and/or any wilful loss or damage caused to the property of Freedom Boats, the party organiser will be held responsible for any such damage or loss. Freedom Boats will not be responsible for any damage to or loss of passengers’ property, nor for any consequential losses, personal injury (including death), caused otherwise than by the negligence of Freedom Boats, its staff or agents acting in the course of their duty.
  8. Disclaimer: At the time of going to press, brochures and other details are as accurate as possible. Freedom Boats cannot be held liable for any inaccuracies or changes.
  9. Passenger Behaviour: The Captain and crew in charge of the vessel reserve the right to refuse to allow any person to come on or remain on board if such a person might constitute a danger, nuisance or risk to themselves and/or other passengers.
  10. Parking: Car parking at embarkation points is at the owners risk and must be arranged as directed so as not to cause obstruction or inconvenience to other persons at the marina.
  11. Passenger Numbers: Milford Star is licensed by the Maritime & Coastguard Agency to carry 40 passengers. We regret that under no circumstances whatsoever can we allow a party to exceed this number.
